Cavaliers 15-0; James Harden Passes Ray Allen on All-Time Triples List; Rockets Blast Bulls

There were 10 games on Sunday’s slate of NBA action, with the Cleveland Cavaliers staying unbeaten and James Harden making history in Inglewood. There was also a blowout in the Windy City.

The Cavaliers, sans Donovan Mitchell (rest), comfortably defeated the Charlotte Hornets by a 128-114 score to become just the fourth 15-0 team in history. The Cavaliers join the 1993-1994 Houston Rockets, 1948-1949 Washington Capitols, and of course the 2015-2016 Golden State Warriors.

Darius Garland led the Cavalier charge with 25 points and 12 assists on 7-for-16 shooting, while Ty Jerome (filling in for Mitchell) scored 24 and dished out 8 assists on 9-for-15 and four made triples. Evan Mobley (23 points, 11 rebounds) and Jarrett Allen (21 points, 15 rebounds) had strong double-doubles.

Harden, in the Los Angeles Clippers’ 116-105 win over the Utah Jazz (3-10), scored 20 points and had 11 assists, no points bigger than the three he made to place him ahead of Ray Allen on the all-time three-pointers made list. Allen made 2,973 in his career. Lauri Markkanen had 18 points and 10 rebounds for the Jazz in the game while Jordan Clarkson scored 21 points off the Utah bench. With the win, the Clippers got to .500 on the season at 7-7.

In Chicago, the Houston Rockets improved to 10-4 with a 143-107 demolition of the 5-9 Chicago Bulls. Fred VanVleet put up 28 points, 7 rebounds, and 7 assists on 10-for-16 shooting while Alperen Sengun had a triple-double (20 points, 11 rebounds, 11 assists). Zach LaVine led the Bulls with 15 points.
